Hi, my name is Lena. I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, I used to draw with my mother while she studied art at UNR. I began working professionally in my twenties - painting acrylic portraits, sewing and designing clothing, and hand-painting logos and signage. A few years ago, I discovered surface pattern design using Adobe Illustrator and fell in love with it.

My inspiration comes from the natural world. I’m especially drawn to mushrooms and plants. In 2013, I took a mycology course at the local community college, which sparked a lifelong fascination with fungi and everything mycology-related.

Today, I live in the countryside of Southern Oregon and grow tropical plants. You’ll see these passions reflected in the work I create. I hope you enjoy exploring my art as much as I enjoy making it. Please reach out if you have a project in mind - let’s make something beautiful together.

Just because I have AI generated images to showcase my human made art, does not mean that I did not put in hours and hours of work to create these.

I’ve been busy moving so I haven’t had much time to post or work on patterns. Here’s a little compilation of photos that I took, over the course three days, of some shaggy manes in the front yard of the house that I’m moving from. So many different kinds of mushrooms have popped up over the seven or so years I was there. When I have some more time I will post a photo compilation, an ode to the old place. Also, I feel a shaggy mane themed pattern coming on. Happy Spring!

It features boletes and chanterelles as the star motifs. I used the damask style, where reflection and symmetry are a thing, so her peak isn’t an exact likeness.
